Mobile game

Introduction

“In-terior” is a mystery point-and-click game in a fantasy style which requires the player to investigate different mystery cases. The main features of “In-terior” the player need to solve puzzles by switching their view of perspective. The main concept of this game is to explore the possibility of puzzle games, therefore the gameplay is divided into three parts: 1. investigation,  2. puzzle-solving, 3. Spirit rivalries.

The story of “In-terior” is about Jarek finally passed the test and entered The Tor. It is an organization which gathered members with a special ability and fight against a villainous organization called Innere. The Tor aims to eliminate the Spirit, which arose from the human’s negative emotions, and trace Innere since they tried to take advantage of the Spirit and caused social chaos. This is also the goal of the player. Players are required to control Jarek and investigate into different mystery cases by doing investigation and fighting with the Spirit.

Objective

The main theme of the story is “A person who tries to protect his most treasured thing.

Many people do not know how to relieve stress, or they relieve stress in the wrong way. As a consequence, others may also be affected and turn themselves as evil. The stories in this game are related to the social issue that we concern. We try to express the idea that nowadays people live under stress and how should people deal with it.

Nowadays there are different mobile games, these games utilize the features of the smartphone. Such as touch and gesture, voice detection, accelerometer and gyroscope, camera and etc. However, they seldom use more than one of the feature in one single game, this makes most mobile game could only have a single playing method. So, technically, we aim to produce a game which could expand the possibilities and improve the entertaining of mobile games

Features 

1. Investigation

Players are required to talk to different characters to get clues of the cases. Players can get items from non-player characters (NPCs) and they can be used on other characters to get more clues. These clues will be useful in the section of Spirit rivalry. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Puzzle-solving

 The player can interact with the object in the scene by point-and-click. Players can also use items to interact with the object in the scene. There are some puzzle games like n-puzzle that require the player to spend more time to solve so that it makes the game more challenging while increasing the entertainment of the game.

While we have a unique feature called “Switching”, the player can switch view to solve the puzzles in a new way, a new point of view.

3. Spirit rivalry

Usually, the part of defeating villains in puzzle games just shows by the plot. But We tried to include arcade games which match the story to let the player enjoy “fighting with the Spirits”. In our demo, we design three Spirit rivalries for this chapter. An endless runner game, a rhythm game and a slicer game. All of the design of these mini-game has its own meaning. For example, in the story, the victim hates piano since her son left her alone and went to study music. So we add a rhythm game while the player needs to play the piano to lure the victim out.
